Initiatives

GenNxt Ent is currently rolling out three initiatives for promotion and social action in communities. Through these initiatives we look to promote creativity, entrepreneurism, social action andpost-secondary education.

Christmas Coat & Toy Drive

The Christmas Coat and Toy Drive iniativesuccessful Food, Coat & Toy Drive to service the surrounding areas in the Carolinas. Within the United States, fourteen states exhibit statistically significantly higher household food insecurity rates. With the U.S. national average standing at 14.3% between 2012-2014, North Carolina had a 16.7% rate, placing us in the top 10. Within these numbers, more than one in four (27.6 %) children in North Carolina struggle with hunger. The largest numbers of homeless individuals in North Carolina live in the urban centers: Mecklenburg (2,418), Wake (1,098), Guilford (949), and Durham (759). Poverty continues to remain elevated in North Carolina, placing us in the top 10 poverty-stricken states in the nation and touching the lives of more than 1.7 million Tar Heels. Poverty disparities are persistent within the state, maintaining the fiercest grip on communities of color, children, and single-parent households. The objective of the Generation Next Food, Coat and Toy Drive is to help make a difference on all of these statistics in North Carolina by spreading these donations to those in need in our communities & shelters across the state.

No Dream Deferred

The No Dream Deferred iniaitve is planned towards education and uses fashion as a backing. With this initiative we plan to introduce a shadow program and secondary college fair into the school system. With the shadow program we plan to implement the chance for select students in middle and high school to have a chance to shadow a day in the life with someone who works in the students dream career. The student will have a chance to experience a day in the life on the job, have a chance to ask questions and gain a greater insight of what it's like to work in that profession daily. The student will also be equipped to make a more astute decision about their dream career and better know their likes & dislikes about that career path. The secondary college fair will focus more on trade and art schools that are widely overlooked in many school college fairs. This will help to create a healthy alternative for students other than major colleges and universities and offer attention to wise careers that are in high need. This will all be backed with a clothing line designed with positive and inspirational messages and quotes.

HeartBeat Radi0

The HeartBeat Radi0 (HBR) initiative is to offer a chance to showcase local talent, artistry and small business/entrepreneurship.This initiative will launch the programming of a radio station. With the spread of events, partnerships and the ability of GenNxt Ent to open more headquarters, more hubs of HBR will open along with the spread. The HBR hubs will offer students a chance to get a glimpse of the different professions offered in radio and the event planning accompanied with it. High School juniors and seniors will also be offered exclusive positions to volunteer work with the programming of the station. Through these experiences students will learn a wider range of positions available in the growing entertainment industry. Students will also learn valuable ideas and education through HBR's "Roundtable" program, where the show will bring in business professionals to offer insight and guidance towards working in their particular position.
